how does your garden grow?

Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing. It would have been a sin to stay indoors. I had to go to the greenhouse, the flowers were calling. After spending a good hour walking through Koko's dreaming of fruit trees and lavender patches practicality prevailed and I decided to plant primroses. I know it's Vancouver, but it's also still March, a little early for lavender.

I planted up the little triangle garden at the end of the driveway and it turned out really well. Primroses come in such great colours and they go in in no time. Instant gratification. Now I've got a little patch of colour welcoming us home. It won't be long now before I can get my hands in the other gardens.

Gandalf couldn't resist coming to inspect my work. Looks like everything passed muster. I just hope the flowers are all still there in the morning.

I'm so jealous that you have flowers! and I just have to ask"what is that shoe doing next to Gandalf? Did she haul it there from inside the house?"

Consider the flowers inspirational Mom. You'll have yours before much longer and then you can post photos of your amazing roses (which simply will not grow in my garden).

As for the shoe, Gandalf didn't drag it out there, it's still attached my foot :) Every time I called to Gandalf to get her to look at the camera I got Kitten-as-deer-in-the-headlights so I decided to just sit there and wait for her to come over. Worked much better.

Almost--but not entirely--Completely Unrelated comment:

What does "Orthogonally" mean? Does it really refere to "above, below, left or right?" the same way "Diagonally" means "off one corner of the other?" If so, this could be an extremely useful word, and has not nearly recahed its potencial!

I LOVE THE FLOWERS! Oh, how i mourn the BC life i used to live! I even miss the rain. There is nothing like a little rainy day, or 28 of them! Oh rain rain, come to winnipeg! We hve actualy had quite a few above zero days here. They are forecasting 9-10 in a few days. I really hope they are right, i could use a good walk.
OOOH, i bought gorgeous sandles today, so i am set for summer. Enjoy your clear crisp flowery days. I just might have to buy a pot of daffodils for the table!
Love ya claire, talk to you soon,
